TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

Data protection and privacy

By signing the membership contract, the member agree that Frontline Academy (FA) can register and store information in accordance with Norwegian law and GDPR. The member also accept that we can use the phone number and e-mail adress they provide to contact them for information and marketing purposes. 

The member’s rights, duties and responsibilities

The member:

  • Can participate in organized trainings at FA (in the appropriate age/skill group).

  • Must refrain from misuse of techniques learned by training at FA.

  • Must immediately inform FA by change of address or name. In the case of a change of bank account, the member is responsible for making the appropriate change to their Avtalegiro agreement so that the membership fee can be deducted. 

  • Is responsible to be fit to participate in any activity they enter offered by FA or its employees. FA waive responsibility for all injuries that - directly or indirectly - are linked to training with FA or its employees and/or members. The member is also informed that they are not insured through FA for any activity, training or competition. 

  • Is responsible for damage and loss of personal belongings, FA will not accept any responsibility for economic loss suffered by the member. 

  • Must provide valid documentation for any discounted membership. Any changes of membership status shall be informed to FA as soon as possible. 

  • Must follow FA rules of conduct at any time. Directions and guidance from FA employees must be followed at all times.

  • Must help keep the training facilities tidy, any equipment used shall be put back in place after use.

  • Must refrain from training with infectious diseases and skin conditions.

  • Is responsible for keeping good personal hygiene and using fresh clothes and equipment, in order to avoid discomfort for other members and instructors.

  • Will need the signature of a parent or responsible guardian if under the age of 18.

Frontline Academy’s rights, duties and responsibilities

Frontline Academy:

  • Will work for a healthy and positive environment, and shall keep facilities and equipment in as good condition as possible.

  • Can keep closed or run a reduced schedule.

  • The academy can be closed at all holidays.

  • Can change the membership fee at any time. This price will not affect the locked price of the contract period (6 or 12 months), but can change once this period has expired. The contract agreements will continue to run on a month-to-month basis after the contract period has ended.

  • Waive all responsibility for loss or damage on belongings as well as any damage, injury or harm suffered by the member itself at the academy.

  • Reserves the right to refuse membership to any individual based on conduct.

  • Reserves the right to refuse membership to any individual on the grounds of suspected drug or doping use. This includes if a member refuse to take a doping test.

  • Reserves the right to refuse membership to any individual who refuse to follow FA rules and instructions given by our employees.

  • Reserves the right to automatically adjust membership price at any time if the member changes membership category based on age. The price will not change during the agreement period. 

  • Can close or reduce its schedule due to holidays, vacations, maintenance work and/or Force Majeure. This does not exempt the member from paying the membership fee, and the member can not claim breach of contract from FA.

  • Can not be held responsible for reduction of, or limitation to, its training schedule and/or other membership services for reasons outside FA control, and that FA can not reasonably expect to overcome the consequences of (Force Majeure). The member is not entitled any compensation, and can not claim breach of contract for any consequence of such event.

Antidoping Norge cooperation and guidelines

Frontline Academy:

  • Has joined the program “Rent senter” with Antidoping Norge, because we want a healthy, safe and positive environment at our academies. Hence, we do not tolerate the use of doping among our members.

The Member

  • Must refrain from using doping, and has agreed that doping is a serious breach of our code of conduct that will lead to immediate termination of the membership contract.

  • Is responsible for following the Antidoping Norge doping rules, the list of prohibited substances can be found at Antidoping Norge's website www.antidoping.no. It's the responsibility of the member to keep up to date with the list.

  • FA has an agreement with Antidoping Norge for doping tests. If signs or symptoms of doping use are brought to FA's attention, the member will have to participate in a meeting with an FA employee. During this meeting, the member will have to sign a written agreement to be tested at any time pending FA suspicion. 

  • If the member refuse to sign the agreement, it will be considered a serious breach of the membership contract, which FA may terminate.

  • Starting 1.July 2013 the use of doping is considered a crime (Legemiddelloven §24). Any suspicion of doping may be reported to the police by FA.

Guidelines against sexual harassment and assault

Frontline Academy and its employees:

  • Must avoid physical contact that is not wanted. Since combat sports in its nature involves a lot of physical contact, it is important that communication on unwanted contact is clear from the member.

  • Must avoid all forms of sexually loaded communication.

  • Will work to have representation of both genders in its staff.

  • Must avoid physical contact with minors without other people present, unless by agreement with parents/guardian.

  • Must react if any breach of these guidelines are observed. Any unacceptable behaviour must be stopped, and the situation shall be reported to FA management.

Photography/filming

All photography and filming in class must be approved by the instructor. The member must not film or take pictures of other members without their consent (or consent of a parent/guardiam in case of a minor). The member agrees to FA photographer taking pictures and filming, and sharing on FA social media accounts.

Holidays

In school holidays (Christmas, Easter and autumn holiday) FA may close or reduce its schedule. In the school’s summer holiday, FA may reduce its schedule and/or close for periods of time.


Pause and transfer of membership

The membership can only be paused in the following circumstances:

  • The member is sick and can’t train (must be documented with a medical certificate from a physician).

  • Pregnancy (must be documented with a medical certificate from a physician).

  • Transfer abroad because of work or education (must be confirmed by employer or school).

The membership may not be paused for holidays/vacations, and for no more than 12 months per case. Pause of membership may not be retroactive.

To pause the membership, apply (with the appropriate documentation) by e-mail to kundeservice@frontlineacademy.no. 

Members can only transfer their membership to another person in agreement with iBooking AS and the other person. This person can not be an existing member. Both parties must come to the FA reception and show a valid ID, and the new member will have to sign the membership contract. 

Terms of payment

At the start of the membership contract, the member will be due to pay the rest of the current month (the sum will be calculated based on the number of days left), the next month, and an enrollment fee (does not apply to some age groups). Thereafter an bill will be sent monthly until the automatic payment deal (Avtalegiro) is approved. Billing is subject to a fee according to government rates. If for any reason the bill is not paid or the direct payment (Avtalegiro) can’t pull’t pull money from the member’s bank account, a late fee will be added according to government rates. If the membership fee is not paid after that, it will be sent to our partners for debt collection.

Avtalegiro (Automatic billing)

By setting up Avtalegiro in their online bank, the membership fee will automatically be deducted from the member's bank account every month. Please note that the members still controls its own bank account, and if the Avtalegiro-agreement is deleted by the member, the membership will keep running and the bill will be sent by mail and added a late fee. The member is responsible for keeping the fee limit on its Avtalegiro deal above the monthly membership fee (or else the bill will bounce).

Contract duration and cancelling the membership contract

The contract duration is counted from the first full month of membership. For example: if you sign up on October 18., the contract duration will run from November 1. 

The membership can not be cancelled for the contract duration. When the contract duration has expired, the contract will continue to run on a month-to-month basis. The contract can be cancelled (by sending an e-mail to kundeservice@frontlineacademy.no) with 1 full month expiration period, starting from next month (for example, if you want to cancel your membership starting October 1, the membership must be cancelled no later than August 31)

Frontline Academy reserves the right to cancel a membership at any time with immediate effect if the member:

  • Is found to do vandalism at FA.

  • Is caught stealing from FA, its employees or members.

  • Doesn't pay the membership fee.

  • Doesn't fulfil age requirements or fail to provide authorization by parents/guardian.

  • Is suspected of doping or to be under the influence of alcohol/narcotics.

  • Is deemed medically unsuited for training at FA by our instructors.

  • Works against FA interests and purposes, or shows unwanted demeanor.

  • Demonstrates aggression towards FA employees and/or members.

  • Misuse techniques learned at FA.

  • Fails to follow guidelines and rules provided by FA and its employees.

  • Breaches the membership contract in any other way, as deemed by FA 

Any membership fee paid will not be refunded in such case. The contract will immediately be terminated, but any fee owed upon this point will be collected. 

Right of Withdrawal

By Norwegian law, “Angrerettloven” chapter 4 §18, if the contract is signed online, you have 14 days to cancel the membership. Please note that this does not apply to contracts signed on paper at FA. To use your Right of Withdrawal, send an e-mail to kundeservice@frontlineacademy.no within 14 days of signing the membership contract. The e-mail must contain: date, full name, adress, description of the issue (termination of contract due to Right of Withdrawal) and an account number for refunding paid membership fee. Please note that if you use the Right to Withdrawal, you will still have to pay for the number of days you've been a member (which will be deducted from the refunded fee).
